A comprehensive exam includes a thorough screening for cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye problems, and a thoughtful discussion of your vision needs. A contact lens exam goes beyond a normal comprehensive exam. Dr. likes to say he needs to look differently at an eye that is going to have a piece of plastic on it.
