Founded in 1989, Asha Family Services, formerly known as Asha Women of Color, a family violence intervention and prevention program and an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment facility, is a private, nonprofit spiritually based agency. The agency provides comprehensive family violence and substance abuse intervention for victims and perpetrators of domestic violence that is culturally specific. It offers women s, children s, youth, men and clinical services. Asha Family Services provides therapeutic assistance and supportive rehabilitative activities for the development and refurbishment of daily living skills.
