Americom Technology, formally known as United Cable Telephone, was founded in 1981 as a partnership between Ronald J. Richter and Patrick W. Birkel, but has since taken on a third owner, Patrick J. Richter. The company formed to provide single-source telecommunication construction and installation for companies like University of Utah, the state of Utah, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Verizon Wireless and Wells Fargo Bank.
