Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative is a customer-owned, nonprofit electric distribution utility that serves 55,000 customers in South Carolina. Headquartered in Pickens, S.C., the cooperative provides electric service to portions of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties. It maintains three offices in the South Carolina communities of Westminster, Anderson and Travelers Rest. There are 20 distribution cooperatives in the state. Blue Ridge is the second largest in South Carolina. Together these cooperatives serve an excess of 500,000 members in more than 70-percent of the state.
