Oregon Trail Electric Co-op is a consumer-owned electric power distribution cooperative serving more than 28,000 members. OTEC serves consumers in Baker, Union, Grant and Harney counties with a network of overhead and underground electrical lines more than 2,870 miles long. OTEC s distribution system represents an investment of more than $112 million. The cooperative, with headquarters in Baker City and district offices in La Grande, Baker City, John Day and Burns, Ore., was founded in 1988. The cooperative s policies are established by a nine-person board of directors made up of bill-paying, resident members elected by members of the electrical cooperative.
