Located in Bismarck, N.D., the Burleigh County Sheriff s Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that supports civil, investigations, enforcement, warrants, transport and training divisions. It also operates a detention center that houses more than 130 convicted criminals and detainees in pending trials. The Burleigh County Sheriff s Department has a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations.
