The Festus Police Department works to provide law enforcement services and ensure the safety and security of citizens. It maintains patrol, investigation and K-9 divisions. The department operates a special response team that handles hostage and barricaded situations, serves high-risk warrants and provides dignitary protection. The Festus Police Department has a communication center that responds to various police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency cases. It also supports the LOCATER system, which supplies information through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
