Chillicothe Municipal Utilities is owned by the residents of Chillicothe, Mo., and offers electricity, water, wastewater removal, refuse collection and Internet services. It is governed by a Board of Public Works, a nonpartisan group appointed by the mayor. Its electric department supplies electricity to more than 4,700 electric customers with over five substations. The department s water supply division provides more than 6 million gallons each day to over 4,000 water customers and has nearly 90 miles of water line.
