Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians provides a range of medical and health care support services to tribal members. It is owned and operated by the tribal administrator and provides services through its finance department, tribal clerks office, personnel department and tribal planner. Its health department employs trained professionals, doctors, registered nurses, counselors, youth coordinators and community health representatives. The company provides transport services and contract medical care, as well as various programs on diabetes, substance abuse and behavioral health. In addition, it offers domestic violence response and youth programs and operates a Maliseet Wellness center. Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians is located in Littleton, Maine.
