Community Health and Counseling Services, also known as CHCS, is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of support services for children and adults with various disabilities. Founded in 1883, it provides residential and outpatient programs that include treatment, foster care, out-of-home placement, assessment, early intervention, therapeutic, family support and educational services. Community Health and Counseling Services maintains an adult mental health services department that offers independent and community living, supportive counseling, advocacy, case management and transitional housing services for adults with developmental disabilitie
