About

Identity is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1998 to serve the Latino community in Montgomery County, Md. It works with Latino youths to empower them to reach their full potential and successfully transition into adulthood by providing them with knowledge, life skills and support. The organization employs more than 10 staff members, including program managers, development and advocacy coordinators, and volunteer and internship directors. Identity has received the 2008 Environmental Award from the city of Gaithersburg, Md., and the Youth Award from Leadership Greater Washington. Located in Gaithersburg, Md., it supports a variety of after-school programs for Montgomery County Public School s (MCPS) middle and high schools Latino students.
