Cleco Corporation is an energy services company that is based in central Louisiana. Cleco has been in business since 1934. The company s two primary businesses are Cleco Power, a regulated electric utility business that serves approximately 264,000 customers in Louisiana, and Cleco Midstream Resources, a wholesale energy business. Cleco owns approximately 1,360 megawatts of regulated generating capacity and manages an additional 691 megawatts for its partners through Cleco Power. In addition, the company has almost 2,100 megawatts of unregulated capacity in operation through Cleco Midstream Resources. The company uses a diverse fuel mix of lignite, western coal, natural gas, oil and purchased power.
