Established in 1962, G. B. Cooley Hospital Service District, a political subdivision of the State of LA, is governed by a Board of Commissioners appointed by the Ouachita Parish Police Jury. Over the years, G. B. Cooley has been a valuable resource to individuals, and their families, in need and desiring the opportunity to become valued, integrated members of the community. G. B. Cooley is able to accomplish its' mission through funding derived from state and federal Medicaid dollars, a small millage property tax, and private donations. to help citizens with developmental disabilities become valued, integrated members of the community.
