Castle Medical Center, a nonprofit institution, serves all of Oahu and is the primary health care facility for Windward, Hawaii. The hospital is owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and operated by Adventist Health. Castle is a 160-bed, full-service medical center, which offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and home-based services. It employs approximately 1,000 people, including 250 physicians and many more nurses, therapists and other health care specialists. In 2005, Castle provided care for more than 6,400 inpatients, 50,000 outpatients and 20,000 emergency patients.
