Jim Mulhall was born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut. In 1982 he graduated from The University of Connecticut. He then attended Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating in 1985. At the time of his graduation he was a member of both the Loyola Law Clinic and the Loyola Law Review. After Law School, Jim took and passed the bar exams for both Connecticut and Louisiana. Jim remained in Louisiana, practicing insurance defense law, until 1989. In October of 1989 Jim returned home and began practicing in Naugatuck, Connecticut with Kevin Nixon. Kevin and Jim practiced as the Nixon and Mulhall law firm for over twenty years. As of January 1, 2013, the firm name changed to The Law Offices of James A. Mulhall, J
