Biogas Energy Solutions, LLC through its predecessor companies has been involved in the landfill gas industry since 1981. The company is among the larger and most respected developers of landfill gas-to-energy projects in the United States. It utilizes landfill gas, which is approximately 50% methane, as a fuel source for the generation of electricity or as a replacement for natural gas in boilers. Landfill gas is considered a renewable energy source. Biogas Energy Solutions portfolio has 42 megawatts of existing electrical generation capacity and is in the process of expanding capacity by an additional 26 megawatts.
