Empire Electric Association is a nonprofit, member owned rural electric cooperative. The cooperative provides electric power to residential, commercial and industrial customers in southwest Colorado and southeast Utah. Empire Electric Association currently serves more than 15,000 customers and boasts nearly 2,000 miles of energized line in a 3,500 square-mile service territory. The cooperative has been in operation for more than 60 years and originally served only rural farmers, ranchers and rural businesses.
