In 1995, Nancy began the study of a traditional martial art at The Academy of Southern Chinese Gung Fu in Holland, NY. The curriculum included the study of acupuncture meridians and the traditional lifestyle of the Chinese martial artist. In China, years ago, martial artists were trained in acupuncture and were expected to be healers, counselors, herbalists and socially responsible to serve their community. For Nancy, this had a strong influence on the development of a career path. Acupuncture is based upon an ancient Chinese system of meridians (channels) through which bioelectric current travels to all parts of the body.
