Founded in 1978, PACT is a social welfare organization that works on child abuse prevention programs. Based in Decatur, Ala., it offers various programs, such as parenting programs, Family Assistance Through Community Ties (FACT) and emergency assistance. The community works to prevent child abuse and neglect by supporting families through parent education, direct services, public awareness and school-based programs. PACT is recognized at the local, state and national levels for excellence in programming, effective use of volunteers and community support/involvement. It is a family resource center that caters to over 10,000 persons throughout Morgan County, Ala.
