Pineda Maria Dr is a non invasive, pain free, procedure that allows for permanent documentation of the optic nerve, macula, blood vessels and retinal details. There are no x-ray involved so it is perfectly safe, even for pregnant women. Just like x-rays are to a dentist, so are these retinal photographs to an optometrist. This will allow for early detection for many ' silent' eye diseases, especially to monitor for those patients with a history of diabetes, hypertension, headaches, flashes of lights, retinal disease and/ or a strong prescription.
